August has been a quiet month, holidays and tranquility in which we have not published all the constant news and improvements that #tweetpeli has achieved, but we were at the lead of so many things that we’ll be informing you starting by today.
It has been a month full of news and improvements in many levels that we will be telling you day by day, so you can decide if them seem to be good options to keep going the @tweetpeli project. Starting by directors that have shown their interest on the film, international and prestigious production companies that offered themselves to help as one more of the crew to shoot some of the stories of the film; screenplay writers meetings to settle down some film structures; some film festival contacts, music groups joining the team, brands offering themselves to sponsor the film, a growing production team getting into work , and lots of people, famous and anonymous that keep working for the Tweetpeli to be innovative, unique and possible.
So, starting by now, be prepared to receive all the news we have to tell you and start giving us your opinions. Tweetpeli is back from the summer holidays!

The #tweetpeli will go down in history for having one of the most eclectic soundtracks. Outstanding music groups such as @ThePinkerTones have already confirmed their presence and others such as @loveoflesbian or the kings of folk @amicsdelesarts are also into the project.
We have in mind explaining to @thelittleidiot (Moby) how his free music project can fit the #tweetpeli too. But we also need you, musician, composer, song writer, singer, soloist…, to compose, sing or play the songs of the #tweetpeli’s soundtrack, on your own or accompanied by a large group of artists, famous or not. Because this is our spirit: well-known and consolidated artists working side by side with others that spend time, talent and tweets on a project in common. If you are a musician, tell us what you play or compose and post us a link here with your work!

We’ve got just 8 days left to close up the calling for stories to be played at the #tweetpeli. In fact, there has been 2 months since we started receiving your screenplay proposals for the Twitter movie, so if you haven’t sent us your synopsis, hurry up! Do it right now and you are in!
We have already received 400 proposals in Catalan, Spanish and English, and 80% of them are thrillers. Murders, kidnappings, knoking downs, bank robberies, Memento‘s kind of stories, dark and mysterious characters. So, the question needed to be answered as soon as possible is: do you agree the #tweetpeli to be a thriller?

As you know, the #tweetpeli is the first movie made through Twitter and charity intended. That means that all the benefits earned by the film from antennae rights, movie theater collects, film festivals, donations, sponsorship and merchandising, will be delivered to a NGO.
There has been some people asking for which NGO is receiving the donations from the #tweetpeli. The answer is easy: we don’t know it yet. And this is because we don’t think this has to be decided by the organisers of the project.
As all of you, Twitter users, are responsible of making the movie (screenplay, direction, OST, edition, promotion, …), we believe that it have to be you who decide which NGO will take benefit from the #tweetpeli. So, which one will you choose?? And, if you are an NGO, let us know why we should give you all the money!

If there is something remarkable about Twitter, we would say that the most important would be that it hasn’t got barriers, frontiers, distances and doesn’t matter the country you are in. We have already seen that at the #tweetpeli, as we have recruited people from more than 30 different countries: Catalonia, France, Andorra, England, Chile, Peru, United States, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Ireland,…
As there are some promotional, production and filming duties that may have to be done in each country, our request is: wherever you are, join our workteam and let us know by commenting that post and. This way, you will become @tweetpeli‘s ambassador and you will be able to help us with whatever has to be done in your country. We want to reach as much countries in the word as possible!

Would you like to be the #tweetpeli‘s director? As the feature film will have crossed stories, we will have different directors (between 5 and 10 maximum). The idea is that each of those stories may have to be directed by a famous and acclaimed director, to strength and promote the project, but supported by a second unknown one, working side by side.
By now, Goya’s winner @josecorbacho, the Oscar nominee @Vigalondo, @AngelLlacer, @abelfolk, @riedweg and the motor of this project @valentisanjuan have already volunteered to direct some of the stories. Would yo like to direct with them? Come on, leave us what you’ve done by now, or a reel with your last work in that post!
If you believe that @david_lych @buenafuente @markromanek or another director you like should participate, let us know and we will try to recruit them to join the project!

The most demanded questions these days have been: how can I join the #tweetpeli? Where do I have to put my name down? Until now we have been working with a whole team database (actors, actresses, directors, film editors, writers, photography directors) but after exceeding the 500 people joining the work team at the @tweetpeli_esp, we found necessary to start dividing teams, so we are starting by interpretation.
If you want to be an actor or actress at the #tweetpeli, from the leading roles, to supporting actors or extras, you only have to say it to us. We will need a link to your reel, so we can get an idea of your previous experience.
Once we know which roles are needed in each story, we will announce it. And, as it could not be in another way, all the Twitter users will vote for the best ones! As in the case of the directors, we will have unknown actors working side by side with well-known ones. Meanwhile, you can start joining us by writing down your name and references in that post!

If you always wanted to make a movie, #tweetpeli (which means #tweetmovie) it’s your chance to do it: it is the first movie made by Twitter users, mixing people with no experience in cinema, well-known figures that will make the project more visible and notorious, and other Twitter users experienced in shootings. The film it’s going to be shot at zero cost and all the benefits will be donated to a NGO, chosen by Twitter users as well.
Having said that: how can you join the #tweetpeli? Easy. We will need as help as possible, from movie directors, writers, actors and actresses, photography directors, producers, communications team, film editors, art directors and people and companies with contacts and influence in cinema’s sector. So, the first thing you should do, if you haven’t done it yet, is joining us by writing down in this post your name, occupation and how you can help us at the #tweetpeli. You must be aware that the plan is to shoot the movie between October 2010 and January 2011.
By the way… if you can’t really do nothing we have mentioned before and still want to collaborate with the #tweetpeli, just help us to spread the hashtag #tweetpeli all over Twitter and the world wide web!

#Tweetpeli is the first collaborative movie made through and only by Twitter users at zero cost. It is charity intended. The project started two months ago out of an idea from @valentisanjuan at the radio program @vistinovist. Shortly after @riedweg, @polispol, @ganyet joined the project and also a thousand Twitter users from all over Catalonia.
All together, this was the starting point of the #tweetpeli, along with the first provisional blog (only in Catalan) and a good mix of some anonymous and well-known Twitter users – such as @vigalondo, @JoseCorbacho, @AngelLlacer, @ThePinkerTones, or Kukuxumusu’s creator @MikelUrmeneta (they are catalan and spanish active Twitter users, related to cinema).
The idea is to make the film outside the conventional tracks, all Twitter users will work together and it won’t matter if they are famous or not or if they are professional in the cinema world or not.
So, whoever you are, you can join the work team of the #tweetpeli: writing the screenplay, directing it, composing the soundtrack or even being the starting role. How is it going to happen? Day by day, post by post, we will explain it in this blog in Catalan, Spanish and English.
